Can also be used to make custom protectors for other thermal devices. Uses 4x M2 counter sink screws for mounting. Inner diameter is 20mm (effective diameter) with outside being 30mm in diameter.

How close is too close?

The titanium mesh can take a 1.5 J hit point-blank several times before breaking. Playing at even 3.0 J, it is most likely still safe to use for most engagement distances. Enter BB weight and power output to check what's a safe distance.

How was this calculated?

Red: above 2 J. Yellow: 1.5 to 2 J. Green: 1.5 J or less. This is an estimate for a level shot with the hop-up set flat, at 25 °C and sea level, from 1.5 m above the ground. Replace the mesh when it shows visible damage. Under extreme conditions (higher power, heavier BBs, repeated hits on the same spot), 100% resistance cannot be guaranteed.
