Installation guide:

  1. Replace beltclip with PTT guard using the 2 screws that came with the radio. Add the rubber band over the radio and PTT Guard.
  2. Remove original volume dial by pulling it off.
  3. Partially unscrew grub screw on the aluminum volume dial using 1.5mm hex key and add the o-ring in the groove on the dial by holding it upside down.
  4. Turn the radio upside down and align the D-shaft with grubscrew. Push the dial on and apply pressure to make sure o-ring is slightly squished.
  5. Secure the grubscrew tightly (thread glue is recommended). You can also remove the o-ring entirely if the dial is too hard to turn.

Baofeng PTT Guard in combination with volume dial is a must-have upgrade kit for any airsoft player or radio enthusiast. This kit includes:

  • PTT guard to avoid accidentally pressing transmit button (especially when in a soft pouch)
  • Volume dial with o-ring to prevent unintentional volume adjustments
  • Rubber band to keep the PTT guard and comms plug extra secure

This Baofeng PTT guard is made specifically for genuine Baofeng UV-82 model to prevent hotmicing. Our PTT guard is made from durable PA12 Nylon and is fixed in place with the original screws used to mount the belt clip.

Our aluminum volume dial comes with an o-ring that adds extra friction to prevent accidental adjustments and has a nice knurling pattern that makes it easy to adjust even with gloves on.

While the PTT guard sits tightly against the radio by itself we often found ourselves using a rubber band to secure the comms cable tightly so we included it as well and made a special groove for it in the PTT guard. Now comes with 1x black EPDM and 1x OD green silicone band

Love it, even after it broke!

Bought it, used and abused it thorougly. After a milsim event I noticed that it had snapped on the side, but yet still worked as it should.

Volume dial is also really handy if you have your radio in place where it might accidentally get hit.

Completely eliminates the accidental presses and keeps your teammates happy. The volume adjustment know made no difference on my radio but I like the feel of it and will use it for that alone. Absolutely worth it.

Sorry to hear that the volume knob didn't add any resistance. We've noticed that some newer radios have a different diameter hole on the volume knob - we're looking into trying a different size o-ring that will work for that too.

Perfect. For the UV 82, the volume cap was inserted without an O-ring. I think it should be supplied with a screw for better anchoring.

Hi! Volume knob already comes with a screw to hold it in place. There's a 1.5mm hex key required and use the screw from the side of the volume knob. If for some reason the screw is missing, get in touch with us.
